I needed a bit of open space and to get out of the studio for a while; it was a blustery day, so decided to take a drive around Castle Point – We’ve all done it hundreds of times!
We are so lucky to be able to take a walk or a drive and within minutes have the views we are blessed with here in Falmouth.
It was completely dull and overcast when I set off so didn’t think it worth having the camera (though it’s always with me), but when driving past the docks it started to brighten. I stopped half way down where a break in the tree-line which allows views over Black Rock to The Roseland Peninsula and St.Anthony’s Lighthouse to check how it was looking. As I got there, a hole appeared in the overcast skies and the dropping winter sun hit Black Rock with a shaft of light, just as this huge wave crashed into it.
Thankfully I pressed the shutter at perfect moment . . .
